Chief Delsa R. Bush was appointed Chief of Police of the West Palm Beach Police Department on January 30, 2004 by Mayor Lois Frankel having served her entire career within the agency. She was hired in 1983 becoming the department's first African American female police officer.

In July 2007 Assistant Chief Crispo was placed in command of the Field Operations Bureau. Field Operations consists of three patrol divisions each commanded by a Captain. The Staff Services Division is organized under the Support Services Bureau and is primarily responsible for the tracking, training and education of police officers from their initial hiring through their career into retirement. With a staff of seven sworn members and two civilians, the Staff Services Division is divided into three distinct groups with specific roles and responsibilities.

Bureau Administrator Patterson
In October 2005 Patterson was appointed by the Chief of Police to the position of Critical Services Bureau Administrator. This position encompasses operations of the Records, Budget, Evidence, Court Liaison and Compstat personnel. His responsibilities include the forty-nine employees of Dispatch Operations.About me
