Volunteer Program for Police and Fire
A citizen volunteer force that assists the department staff in doing tasks that free up certified officers for law enforcement work, thereby improving overall effectiveness of the department. (A yearly Volunteer Banquet is held to honor these volunteers, as well as four individuals being nominated throughout the year as Volunteers of the Quarter). We also oversee recruiting and placing volunteers for the Fire Department. Backgrounds checks, interviews, discipline and placement are done by the Volunteer Coordinator and the Crime Prevention Officer. To become a Volunteer call 822-1621.
